The Three “R”s that help coping with anxiety —

Stop fighting your feelings.

When we stop trying to push our anxiety away and acknowledge it, we take away it’s power. When it no longer has power over us, we feel free. This is obviously. much easier said than done but here are a few techniques to try out:

RECOGNIZE: Literally say “hello anxious thoughts”, “I see you”, “I hear year”, “I know you are just a thought and you do not define me”

RETURN TO THE PRESENT: Once you recognize you’re having these thoughts, bring yourself back to the present moment. What are you doing? What are you looking at, touching, hearing, smelling, tasting?

REPEAT: over time this conscious practice will turn into an unconscious practice. Our brains are so resilient and our neural pathways can be rewired with practice and repitition.
